Thousands of people every day are breaking copyright law by converting CD music to play on there MP3 players such as iPod and so on.
According to a study carried out by the Consumer Forum, some 73 per cent of Britons are still unaware of the existing laws relating to the copying of music files from CDs onto computers or mobile entertainment devices.
In addition, just 17 per cent of the 2,000 consumers polled were found to be aware that it is illegal to copy CDs or DVDs onto a computer, meaning that millions of people are unwittingly breaking the law on a daily basis.

A Russian security researcher on Thursday said he has released attack code that exploits a critical vulnerability in the latest version of Mozilla’s Firefox browser.
The exploit – which allows attackers to remotely execute malicious code on end user PCs – triggers a heap corruption vulnerability in the popular open-source browser, said Evgeny Legerov, founder of Moscow-based Intevydis. He recently added it as a module to Vulndisco, an add-on to the Immunity Canvas automated exploitation system sold to security professionals.

Last year the New York Attorney General’s Office slapped a $375,000 fine on both McAfee and Symantec for renewing anti-virus subscriptions and auto-charging credit cards without prior customer approval. Both companies were found to have inadequately disclosed the auto-renew service to consumers, and were thus forced to pay the fines, change the disclosures, and provide electronic notification of subscription expiration.
Google seems all set to bolster up the appeal of its mailing service Gmail by adding a slew of social networking features to it, the Wall Street Journal reported.
